WJWJ ETV Lowcountry Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Statewide Program

The popular ETV Radio program, Your Day will broadcast statewide this Thursday, September 1, 2005 at noon from the banks of the Beaufort River as a celebration of WJWJ ETV Lowcountry’s 30th anniversary.

The program will simulcast locally on WJWJ TV and statewide on ETV’s digital service, the South Carolina Channel.

Some of the guests include:  Anita Prather-Singleton and the Gullah Kin Folks, Libby Barnes, President & CEO of the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Larry Rowland, Professor Emeritus at USC Beaufort, Ervena Faulkner, food columnist with the Beaufort Gazette, Sen. Scott Richardson, John Brunelli, WJWJ Station Manager and Derrick Moon, host of Joy in the Morning on WVGB radio.

The public is invited to watch the live program outside the WJWJ studio located on the Beaufort campus of the Technical College of the Lowcountry.

Your Day:  Beaufort will repeat at 7:00 P.M. September 1, 2005 on WJWJ ETV Lowcountry. 

Your Day is produced in partnership with Clemson University Radio and ETV Radio.

WJWJ ETV is one of four regional TV stations operated by the ETV network.  It went on the air in September of 1975 and was named for the late State Senator James Waddell Jr.  (Wonderful James Waddell Jr.)

For the past 19 years, the station has produced the Local News (weeknights at 5:30 P.M. and 11:00 P.M.)  The station also produces an hour-long call-in program, Coastline Thursday nights at 8:00 P.M.  The station will start broadcasting a digital signal next month.
